Buuuuenoo. Ahora Paris (27-2-11)
Paz and I went to París for a viaje de chicas el dia 7 de enero hasta el dia 10. It was soo much fun :) I never really had a huge desire to go to Paris, but we picked it because of cheap tickets and I did actually want to see it. Now that I´ve been I see why everyone wants to go there, it´s so amazing!
We were staying right by La Grande Roue, so we were in a cute little neighborhood. Right outside out hotel was a market of shops:

and the if you walk a little farther up, you can find the noria!

(Noria is Faris Wheel.)
This is our first day here and also the day we walked until our feet fell off. Literally all over Paris to see absolutely everything.
This is in the same plaza, it´s the entrance to the parking garage. A little bit prettier than the ones in the US.
From this plaza we walked to the gardens of the Louvre, which are full of status and fountains, but surprisingly very little grass. Just like the big park in Madrid… I don´t know, maybe I´m still really American but when I think of parks I think of grass.

In the middle of the garden, there is a giant fountain in the shape of a circle, and there´s a big circle around it, which is lined with statues. Each pathway has two statues at each entrance, all completely different.

Me pretending to be Parisian.
We kept walked to lle St. Louis to grab some lunch. We met some nice French people, and one of them spoke Spanish. He had lived in Mexico for a few years. The restaurant was really really small, and absolutely packed with people so every time someone would pass our table, we would have to hold everything so that it wouldn´t fall.
Everyone was really nice though. The waiter as well spoke Spanish and he was speaking to us about how he´s actually Canadian living in France because he earns more money here. Later he complimented my boots haha.
After, we continued to the lle de le Citie, where we saw the Notre Dame. On the way we passed the book stables
They´re green boxed that people rent out, and the vendors fill the with anything from books to paintings to curtains haha
We also passed this other market. It´s for plants and outdoor-ness

The Notre Dame
Later we walked to the underground mall, to the Musee Dorsai, to the Eiffel Tour, through a few churches and to the end of the earth. By the time we got to the Opera center we were so done walking that we neeeeeded to find a place to just take a drink and site for a while. Two of the places we asked wouldn´t sit us because it was ´dinner time¨ and only dinner can be served at dinner time.
The place we went was nice, we ordered fancy beers and huge glasses of water. We ended up staying there for almost two hours, complaining about how we had to walk down stairs to get to the bathroom, and debating whether or not it was worth it. When I finally did go down to the bathroom, I met a really nice girl from Canada who was studying business there. The waiter was really friendly too. He speaks English, Spanish, French, a little German and Turkish. Later when we paid we gave him a big tip, even though you aren´t supposed to do that in Paris haha.
This was our walk back to the hotel

The next morning we tried to wake up bright and early for our 9 o´clock reservations for the Eiffel tower, but that didn´t work so well. We left the hotel sprinting, and in the end it didn´t matter, since we were basically the only people there who had reserved tickets for the elevator. We got to skip the whole line, and go right up.

Later we walked to get our city passes, which gave us tickets to the metro, to Museums and all the buses. From there we went straight to Montmartre to see the Sacre Coeur, which absolutely beautiful but has a LOT of steps.

In the middle of the steps there were people singing, and at the bottom there were a bunch of guys waiting there to make bracelets in rasta colors. One of the basically grabbed my hand and started doing one so I just kept telling him I dont speak French in Spanish haha. When he asked where I was from, he was shocked that I said American, since I was speaking Spanish. Holler at breaking stereo-types.
Around the corner from the cruch is the artist´s plaza
There are a tonn of people painting charicatures, drawing the church, drawing… well anything really. They are all really talented too, that´s the cool thing.
Later we went to the Dali Museum
Ilooooooooooooooooooooooooooooovedali jajaj

From the Dali Museum we walked back into the center of Montmartre so we could see the Moulin Rouge
I did some research and it said it´s really touristy and expensive now so we didn´t go in, BUT. Outside is cool too. There were a bunch of guys dancing the ¨single ladies¨ dance outside, so it was definitely entertaining.
We went to see the tallest building in Paris, which was interesting. You can see absolutely everything, and they have little maps to explain where everything is, because it´s almost impossible to distinguish what is what. Paris is alll white, so all the buildings just blend together when you´re looking from above.
When it was nighttime, we went back to the center of the City to take a boat ride in the Seine River. It was interesting. I got to meet three kids from Russia who were there for a class trip. (Or at least I think, the boy´s English was hard to understand haha)
On the boat
After the boat.
After this we went to the Latin corner to have dinner. We ended up eating in a Greek restaurant where they would break a plate every time someone came in. It was a really fun place actually, even though the food wasn´t that fantastic. There was live music and people dancing and singing.
They ended up asking me to dance with a group of the girls. It was that one where they are all in a circle, kicking their legs lol it´s actually really hard, and I couldn´t lift my head up without getting lost

After this I got to eat again, but the girl saw me dancing at the table and asked me to dance with her again. I did, but I wasn´t thinking that that mean on a table

After this we went back to the hotel, dead again. We did soo much each day, it was ridiculous haha
The next morning we went right to the Louvre.

There were a lot of artists inside, painting copies of the pictures, or just practicing. In almost every window there was an art student and in almost every room an artist painting with an isle and paint and a little sign that says no fotography.

This is my favorite picture from paris :)

The final thing we did was board the tour bus. We saw the Opera, the Palace, the Notre Dame, and they named everything we were going by, including every bridge. We ended up at the Arc de Triomf, with its 200 something steps up- we were exhausted by the time we got to the top.

A picture taken from the top. We met these really nice foreigners, two Brazilians and an Austrian. We stayed and talked to them for a while, and then Gabriel (Brazil) and Paul (Austria) took us out to drinks right beside the Eiffel Tower. They were really interesting, and so friendly. :) After this we had to go right to the airport, so we left running to catch our flight.
